The Beginning from the End

Starting my own fashion blog has been a project in the back of my mind for years now. Although I recognize at this point blogs are a bit outmoded and have given way to the more popular social media, I still feel this is the right outlet for me. I've honestly lost my taste for social media, and quite honestly, I have far more to say about my clothes than most of my "friends" would probably care to read. But many of my and my mom's close friends have admired our outfits over the years, and many of us have encouraged us to start a fashion blog at some point. Life was always just too busy.

But now that my mom is retired, the love of my life no longer lives on this earth, and our dear mom / Granny has also passed, we needed something to focus on, to bring us joy, to tell our stories, etc. I have enjoyed following many other fashion blogs over the last year, and one of my favorites quit publishing last year, as the author's father continued to decline from cancer. I understand what she is going through, and applaud her decision to step away and put her father first. But as I had already been tossing the idea of starting a blog around in my head, I thought, if caring for a sick loved one is a good reason to lay aside a blog, losing a loved one and no longer being able to care for them must be a good reason to start a blog. In a sense, I feel like I can pick up the torch and carry it awhile.

This won't necessarily be the blog where you can shop or find deals. We don't work with any sponsors. It also won't necessarily be the place where you can find beauty tips. I consider myself terrible at doing hair (I like to say I go for the "French-girl vibe", which most days consists of bedhead), not much better at makeup, and my daily skincare "routine" is laughable at best. But I hope that our blog will inspire you, in putting outfits together, in finding your personal style, in taking risks, in embracing God's plan for your life, and in remembering that true beauty comes from what's on the inside.
